At Alexandria Animal Hospital of Fort Hunt, we make every effort to treat our clients’ pets as outpatients, allowing them to heal and receive treatment in the comfort of their own homes; however, there are cases in which a brief visit to the veterinarian is not enough to restore your pet’s health.
Hospitalizing your pet can be a distressing experience, but we can assure you that your furry friend will always be in the most capable and loving hands at Alexandria Animal Hospital of Fort Hunt. During advanced cases and medical emergencies, we offer full hospitalization services to give your pet the best possible chance of recovery.
Throughout your pet’s hospitalization, we treat them like a member of the family instead of just treating the medical condition. Your pet’s health is our number one priority, and with that comes gentle, tender, and comforting care that includes ensuring that your pet’s stay at our hospital will be as painless as possible.
Some of the hospitalization services we offer include observation to ensure a full and fast recovery, IV fluids to encourage hydration, and nursing care to make sure that your pet gets the personal medical attention they require to recover fully. These services are available through our daytime intensive care program and both pre- and post-surgery.
Although we do offer hospitalization, we are not staffed after hours as we are not a 24-hour facility.
